Working ‘with’ God is Less Work

…God is activiely protecting us from the influence and consequence of evil in the world around us. Therefore, if we love anything that is evil we are striving against God’s work in our lives. That is, we are holding on to evil instead of allowing God to eliminate its influence from our lives.

I Must Work While It Is Day

We can’t understand how God decides the day of our death. We don’t know when our own finish line will come. But we should all live in such a way that when we come to the finish line of our life there will be no unfinished business, no works our Father assigned to us that we’ve left undone.

The Word is for Washing

If we indeed intend to heed God’s call to service, let us then commit ourselves to sanctification: to being washed by His Word. Let us determine to study God’s Word that He might set us apart unto Himself, for His use ONLY.

BUILDING A SPIRITUAL WALL: Five Imperatives of Spiritual Growth

Despite the damage sin does to us spiritually and physically, the Blood of Jesus Christ washes us clean and makes us new. From human eyes, it might not look like much, but we have everything we need to build up our spiritual wall of salvation. And that wall is indestructible, because God is its architect. Therefore, if/when we fall into sin let us not doubt our spiritual growth (if indeed we have been growing!). Rather, we should keep an eye on the gates watching and praying so that the enemy does not infiltrate our spiritual wall and lead us into temptation (Mark 14:38).

I was in prison, and ye came unto me.

The Parable of the Sheep and the Goats: “Do I value others enough to put their needs above mine?”

Love is neither theoretical nor abstract. The lover pays a price to love the loved. Jesus gave His life and thereby proved His love for us. He didn’t, and indeed couldn’t, just stay in Heaven and wish us into salvation; a price had to be paid. We too must be willing to pay any price to love our brethren; because each person has value and that value is the Blood of Christ, for that is the price He paid for each man, each woman.

...freely give. (Matthew 10:8)

The Parable of the Talents: “We are NOT saved by works, BUT we are saved to do works”

Salvation is NOT gained by works.. But works testify that salvation HAS taken place… “Faith without works is dead”.

Measuring Up.

To measure up, we must exercise all the faith God has given us. If you have been given the faith to move mountains, then move them around… If you have the faith to sweep the church, don’t settle for sweeping a pew. If you have the faith to witness to many, don’t settle for telling a few… God expects us to… attain our full faith potential.

The Parable of the Two Sons: “It’s not how you start… It’s how you finish!”

It’s not what you SAY, It’s what you DO.
It’s not how you START, It’s how you FINISH.
It’s not who you ARE, It’s who you can BECOME.

God has a Job for you… and you didn’t even earn it.

None of us earn the right to be used by God in any way. God chooses the job He wants us to do based solely on the plan he ordained for us BEFORE we were born, not on any humanly obtained qualifications.

Reflections in Nehemiah: WORK WROUGHT WORSHIP

The focus of a Christian’s work, in the Kingdom of God, is to enable the Worship of God… Therefore, everything a Christian does, each facet of our lives, every fiber of our being must be focused on delivering, to the people around us, the truth of salvation through the sacrificial death of Jesus Christ.

"Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven."... "Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven. But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven."... "For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?" ~Matthew 7:21, 10;32-33, Mark 8:36

Reflections in Nehemiah: Not Everyone Is Going to Heaven

Those who have no use for God before death will have no use for Him after death. If Heaven isn’t real for you now, it DEFINITELY won’t be ‘real’ for you when you die.

Reflections in Nehemiah: The Butler Did It!

Scholarship and other human accomplishments are not what qualify us for joining God’s workforce. God looks for devotion over degrees, desire over duty, enthusiasm over experience, fellowship over fame, and connection (to Him) over ‘connections’.
God used a butler
To build a city wall;
He can use you too,
If you answer His call.

Encounters With Jesus: Paying Taxes

The children of God live in the Kingdom of God, therefore, no tax in any kingdom of man can stop/hinder the work of a child of God going about their Father’s business in the Kingdom of God. God the Father had already provided for our earthly needs, so no earthly tax/demand/situation can stop you or me from doing the work of God here on earth.
