I Prayed for Thee Today
I prayed for thee today,
To the God Who has all power
That He would keep thee close to Him
And strengthen Thee this hour,
I prayed for thee today,
To the God Who has all power
That He would keep thee close to Him
And strengthen Thee this hour,
We should note… that God’s care for the sparrows does not prevent them from experiencing the normal struggles and challenges and difficulties of life: they are eaten, they have diseases, they lose their ‘loved ones’…
Strength then comes from trusting in God rather than ourselves. The strong, courageous man/woman is not the one who is ‘self-reliant’. The strong, courageous man/woman is God-reliant.
We may feel afraid and discouraged at times in this life, like the battles are too big to overcome. But we are to stick to God’s facts, and not our feelings.
“We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed;
We are perplexed, but not in despair;
Persecuted, but not forsaken;
Cast down, but not destroyed”
~ 2 Corinthians 4:8-9
God is concerned more about where we are going than where we are from. We can never UNDO the wrongs of yesterday, BUT we can get things right for tomorrow.
We can proclaim God’s faithfulness in the storms of life, when we have been through those storms leaning on Him.
Are you mourning, believer, because you are so weak in the divine life: because your faith is so little, your love so feeble? Cheer up, for you have cause for gratitude. Remember that in some things you are equal to the greatest and most full-grown Christian. You are as much bought with blood as he is.
Many of us are presently going through some really tough times… Let us pray that God will make a way for all of us to take the time to talk with each other more… to share each others burdens.
Many times the troubles we have been through, and how we persevered through them, can be an encouragement to those going through similar situations. When we share the experiences we have had, it makes others who are currently going through them, feel as though they are not alone.
