Dear Lord Give me a Heart
A heart that’s cleansed from sin’s vile scourge
A dwelling place for Thee
A heart Thy precious blood did purge
A heart from sin set free
A heart that’s cleansed from sin’s vile scourge
A dwelling place for Thee
A heart Thy precious blood did purge
A heart from sin set free
The need of the hour for today’s ministry is believing scholarship joined with earnest spirituality, the one springing from the other as fruit from the root. The need is Biblical doctrine, so understood and felt, that it sets men on fire.
What if God changes our careers, turns our lives upside-down, inside-out and reassigns us to a dungeon somewhere far away? Would we spend the rest of our days in FEAR and regret, in bitterness and resentment?? Or would we, like Paul, accept our redeployment willingly. Are our lives all about Christ or all about comfort??
After all the recent distractions with elections, let us get back to our true jobs: laboring in the fields of The Prince of Peace, Christ Jesus.
When Jesus calls you/me into ministry (any kind of ministry; Romans 12:4-8), what will be our response?
Will we immediately make the step of faith? Or will we hold back (making the usual excuses)?
When Jesus makes the call, do we have our minds set for service?
So, as we devote time to draw ever closer to God, this growing bond must also prepare us to better relate to our brother’s needs. And one of those needs is Salvation.
