Where is Your Heart?
If you really want to know where your heart is, show me your treasures.
If you really want to know where your heart is, show me your treasures.
…Real wealth is not found in the accumulation of the things that men say are valuable. We become truly wealthy when God… declares us valuable to Him because He can use us in His Kingdom. Don’t let the blessings become more important than the Blesser.
Man has always measured success by material (financial) security and social standing. So, the means to acquire these attributes have always been highly prized. God, however, measures success by spiritual security (salvation) and spiritual standing (righteousness), which are obtained not by human wisdom/knowledge but by faith and obedience.
We often miss our most important responsibility to our children: cultivating the soil of their heart… and planting the seed of God’s Word in it.
Wisdom for living is ONLY found in the WORD of God and only the Holy Spirit can guide us through life. So, let us “clothe” our children in the scarlet Blood of Jesus Christ so that they will be prepared for the harshest winters of life.
True salvation is everything or it is nothing. To be a believer, a faithful follower of God, in Jeremiah’s day, in Jesus’ day and in our day means that God is at the center of our attention: that God alone is our motivation: God alone is our driving force: that He alone orders every step of our life.
Is Salvation valuable enough to give up everything to get it?… For Salvation to come to our lives, it must displace everything from our lives… If Salvation means ANYTHING to us, it must be EVERYTHING to us. How much are you willing to lose just to get Salvation? How much is too much to lose to get Salvation?
We CAN overcome sin by continually submitting our will to God’s authority, by studying, memorizing and frequently contemplating God’s Word, so that it can transform us by replacing our human desires with Godly desires. Then God’s will and God’s plan will consummate in us to produce righteousness to the Glory of God.
To experience God’s Redemption we must relinquish our worldview/value-system and accept God’s instead.
It is quite revealing to compare how much time, effort and money we spend on our outward appearance versus our heart (inward appearance). Think of how much is spent each day on preparing clothes, hair, skin, diet and physique. So much time, so much effort, so much money spent just to look good enough for those around us. How does it compare to the time and effort spent in preparing our hearts for God?
If we, by faith, accept the God described in the Bible, then we know that nothing can stop God’s overarching will for and in this world. Therefore, every circumstance of life must work together to execute God’s plans. Even the evil that men choose to do cannot escape His inexorable (unstoppable) will from being accomplished. It is only with this understanding that we can have hope rather than despair in the various tragedies, big and small, that beset our lives.
