When the days of darkness fill my view,
and the clouds obscure the light;
When instead of His sweet promises,
I am filled with dread and fright;
When I cringe before His Holiness,
so aware of my own faults;
And can barely grasp His love for me,
stored in mercy’s endless vaults;
In the midst of struggle tinged with pain
I must never once forget
That the Son who made the brightest skies
will raise me up to them yet.
Storms can never hide me from His face,
though at times He’s hard to see;
He will always bring me through the rain,
and faith in Him calms the sea.
