God’s No
And when in love and wisdom
[God] withholds my heart’s request
His “no” means “something better”.
He will give me what is best.

Our problem is that we trust our senses more than we trust God. Our tendency is to walk by sight, i.e., to live by our senses and our own human logic. When our sensory experiences tell us that things are out of the norm, our minds conclude, based on that limited information, that we are in danger, that we should react in fear.
Mercy makes sanctification (holiness) possible, peace makes preservation possible, and love makes service/ministry (our calling) possible.
I thank Thee, Lord, that here our souls
Though amply blessed,
Can never find, although they seek
A perfect rest;
Nor ever shall, until they lean
On Jesus’ breast.
“How does a mother bury her fourth child?” “How does a father go home without a job to return to and with bills to pay?” But we know God IS good. We know He has made a way for us. We know that even when we are faithless, He IS faithful.
Even if everything in our lives are going haywire, we can have perfect peace if we look and keep looking to God.
Sometimes we too will face impossible situations, but IF we are walking in the will of God doing the work of God, He WILL make a way for us to come through, to escape. Our challenge in to “stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD”.
…Jesus offers peace to us, not war. Let us accept His generous offer, while we can, for it is far more than we deserve from a righteous and Holy God.
…it is prudent that we change our attitudes from tribulation avoidance to tribulation expectation/preparation, because we know it is coming. no matter what we do.
Rest can be defined as freedom from strife, freedom from anxiety. But, apart from God there is no rest: man cannot free himself of strife and anxiety.
