Heart ‘Transplant’
Give me a pure heart, that I may see Thee…
Give me a pure heart, that I may see Thee…
Believing in Jesus is not the hard part, that’s not what stops us from truly coming to God. What prevents us from becoming disciples is our unwillingness to apply God’s Word fully and continually to our every aspect of lives. Many of us believe in Jesus, but we want to continue in our own word, we want to do things the way we like it, we want to be “free”, just like lucifer.
How can I survive on my own?
I can’t make it all alone.
I have tried to do right, but I fail over and over again.
When will I overcome my weakness? When? When!
I look to my brother, and he is struggling too.
Lord, have mercy on me and my brother we NEED You.
God not only promises us a way out of every temptation, He also offers us rest. Not just for our souls, and not someday in the future – but right now and for our very flesh, even that part of us that constantly fights Him. “My flesh also shall rest in hope.”
Search me, know me;
stay away.
I want love and salvation,
but I want it my way.
When God reaches out to us, we have a finite “window of opportunity” to respond to His call.
God does not give us the desires of our un-yielded hearts!… [but] we can discover the truth of God’s tender mercies if we will FIRST delight ourselves in Him.
Left on our own, our species would undoubtedly swallow itself whole in greed and debauchery. But there is One who comes to us with a different way. Like the sun breaking through the clouds, he brings warmth and life and a way out of the mire.
There are many, many things that we are taught from the time we are born; but to truly grasp the love that Christ has for us is by far the very most important.
A Believer becomes a new creation at the point of salvation, but that new man does not automatically have control over the old, but still present, sin-nature. Sanctification is the process of putting to death that old sin nature so that Christ can reign in us… a Believer with God’s Word incorporated in is/her heart is Word-driven and Spiritually centered, free from the power of sin.
