Perspective on Prayer

The first step in a powerful prayer-life is seeking the will of God. We must let go of our wills our wants and our wishes. And replace them with God’s will “Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done”…
As we read God’s word, we get to know Him better. As we know God more, we know His will more. As we know God’s will more, we better know how to pray according to His will. And… when we pray according to God’s will, our prayers are… answered affirmatively.
Mankind’s problem isn’t fundamentally one of knowledge. Rather the issue that besets the world is one of will. We know God exists, we know what is right. But will we seek God? Will we humbly accept His Way and His Salvation?
When God reaches out to us, we have a finite “window of opportunity” to respond to His call.
Jesus did not give us a ‘blank check’; He only promised to deliver requests made in “His name”.
It is the combination of God’s mercy, as He patiently works with us, and His Word, as it transforms our mindset, which ultimately breaks the power of sin over our lives…If God has started the transformation process in us, He won’t stop working (even if He has to use with trials to get it done). God won’t quit on you… so don’t quit on yourself!!!
Rather than making God’s Word subject to our desires, we should subject our desires to God’s Word.
