The heart of man was made by God and for God. Therefore, lasting joy can be found nowhere else: real joy is only found in the heart yielded to God. Without, God there is only sorrow covered with laughter and heaviness (depression) covered with mirth.
…to the poor, to the weak the downtrodden, to the single mother with too many children, to the homeless man on the corner, our ATTITUDE should always be one of MERCY; not indifference, not judgment, not anger, but MERCY.
Many of us struggle with sin in our lives and with that struggle comes shame and a sense of worthlessness. Eventually, we question whether God will even come near us, whether God could even work through us. Sometimes we get so low, that we pull ourselves away from serving Him, because we feel so unlovable…
Instead of life being all about me, life must be all about Jesus. And, as a channel of Jesus’ love and mercy, I cannot allow MYSELF to become clogged up with MY SELF.
Let us keep our focus squarely and continually on the Word of God. Let us not be deceived by the opinions of men, or the lures of the devil. Let us affix the Word of God in our hearts, so that we can be rooted, steadfast, in His Will.
David confessed his sins to God unreservedly, without excuse, and sought forgiveness. But David didn’t stop there. For him, forgiveness was not “enough”…
For the Christian, thanksgiving is not just a day but a way of life.
Laugh, and the LORD laughs with you;
Weep, for you’re not alone.
For the sad old earth must borrow its mirth,
But you can have the joy from God’s throne.
If you are facing loneliness or pain as once again you pick up your burden, you can draw on the Lord’s resources and be a living testimony of His all-sufficiency. If you’re filled with thanksgiving and praise, you can tell others of God’s goodness.
